disclaimer: these are not my “Best Picture” oscar predictions.

1. The Social Network - come on. this doesn’t even need a description. Fincher(best director oscar winner). Sorkin(adapted screenplay oscar winner). Eisenberg(oscar nom). Garfield(oscar nom). Trent Reznor(oscar nom) with the incredibly fitting score. easily movie of the year and the REAL reason why Mark Zuckerberg was TIME Magazine’s “Man of the Year”.

2. Never Let Me Go – LOVED this. Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield were incredible. score was incredible. cinematography was beautiful. loved this story and the kids that played the three leads in the beginning. very moving. so sad it’s not getting enough recognition.

3. Black Swan - mind blowing. amazing original concept. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. Aronofsky is a genius. the cinematography(oscar winner) was brilliant. no wonder the Natalie Portman is marrying him. she will definitely be giving the acceptance speech at the oscars, by the way.

4. The Fighter - amazing ensemble cast. the sisters were so funny to watch. Amy Adams going against type(possible oscar winner) and pulling it off so well. Christian Bale continues to impress and will also be hoisting up the oscar this year. enjoyed it so much. great boxing movie.

5. The King’s Speech - i adore movies that are centralized around a king or queen of england, like last year’s The Young Victoria. the three leads, Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, and Helena Bonham-Carter, worked SO well together. great chemistry between Firth(oscar winner) and Rush. every scene was brilliant. possible original screenplay oscar winner, as well.

6. 127 Hours - stuck with James Franco in a crevice for 5 days? NO PROBLEM. that’s how Danny Boyle makes you feel anyway. score=wow. James Franco blows my mind yet again. every single scene i really felt like he was stuck and could not get out. incredible performance.

7. Inception - Chris Nolan had been working on the screenplay for this for 10+ years. you knew it was going to be good, but it was HUGE. look for a possible win in the original screenplay department. saw this three times in theaters. the casting was BRILLIANT. Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard especially. Hans Zimmer’s score was enthralling. it really added to the film rather than just having music in the background.

8. Kick Ass/Scott Pilgrim TIE - i had to put both of them up here. THIS is how you make good comic book movies. both really blew me away. i saw both of them THREE times in theaters and own BOTH on blu ray. you cant rely on acting to get you through a comic book movie. we need more of these *cough*MARVEL*cough*DC*cough*

9. Toy Story 3 - a great great great great great great Pixar movie. maybe their best. it had everything. and it brought back memories from when i was a wee lad. buzz and woody are iconic and this movie just brings that thought back to consciousness. obviously, the oscar for best animated picture.

10. Remember Me - wayyyy back in march this movie came out. i was excited for it because Claire from LOST(R.I.P.) was playing the lead girl. it was wayyyy better than i expected. the surprise ending completely made me rethink the whole thing. plus i love movies set in new york. Robert Pattinson as the lead actor shows that he is more than just a shitty sparkly vampire. really loved this movie. this also gets my award for favorite movie poster of the year ^
Best Documentary Film - Exit Through The Gift Shop - just watch it. it’s about street art. some GREAT street art. and a great story behind it.
i havent seen the following movies yet so they arent included in this list (even tho some of them would completely change this list)
Blue Valentine
Rabbit Hole
Somewhere
Biutiful
True Grit
Another Year
